On this home page, we'll introduce our newest art form : Mosaics as
Sundials! Matz Lamdan has started creating original sundials on stone, marble bases, with mosaic faces in
marble and glass tesserae.
The sundials are horizontal((or vertical) with gnomon of metal, copper
or other......The gnomon points to the North pole, and the difference between summer time and winter time may be adjusted
by moving the
whole sundial in accordance. At noon the gnomon should point directly North......In daylight saving time, at noon
the shadow will fall on 1 instead of 12 o'clock. Sundials should be placed level, in full sunlight, as they show
the time by the sunny hours only!
